What It Is

Where does a driver get its speed? From a flexible face. Every time your club hits the ball, that driver face deforms inwardly, then snaps back into shape, propelling the ball forward and (hopefully) toward your target.

But what if we told you that Cleveland Golf engineers found a way to put more flex in your driver head? You’d perk up, right? Because more flex is more speed, and more speed means more distance. Well, strap in, because that’s exactly what we’ve accomplished with Rebound Frame and you’re about to learn all about it.

How It Works

Like we said above: driver hits ball, driver face flexes, ball flies fast. But with Rebound Frame, the driver doesn’t just flex once, it flexes twice thanks to a second flex zone.

Around the perimeter of Launcher XL’s fast and flexible face, we thickened the titanium to create a rigid frame that supports the face. But, as you move farther back along the crown and sole of the driver, behind that rigid frame, we’ve thinned out the titanium wall as much as possible. This creates a ring of flexibility in the body of the driver, located behind the driver face. That ring is then supported by additional stiffness at the back of the driver.

When you strike the ball, both of these flexible zones are activated, increasing the amount of energy that subsequently propels the golf ball off the face of the driver. It’s all a bit complicated, we know, but it’s easy to think of it as a spring within a spring–a bounce within a bounce.

Or, if you want the easiest way to remember why Rebound Frame makes Launcher XL faster than any other driver we’ve made in the past, just remember this: two flex zones are better than one.

Lean and Mean

A bonded hosel without the weight-adding adjustability sleeve, together with an ultra-lightweight shaft, makes this driver 12g lighter and 0.25” longer than the adjustable version, so it swings extra quick. That added speed means more distance off the tee.

XL HEAD DESIGN

Big Brain Time

This is huge: a bigger head with extreme perimeter weighting means an MOI of 5,100 g-cm2. Add that forgiveness to the high launch that comes from low-and-deep weighting, and you’ll enjoy maximum distance with maximum fun.

What’s better than one flex zone? Two (duh). A flex zone in the face and a second flex zone in the body of the club work in sequence to direct more of your impact energy into the golf ball, increasing ball speed and distance on every shot.

Balance it Out

An 8g weight placed inside the end of the grip delivers better balance for more control without extra effort. Thanks to that counterweight, the club head feels light and controllable on the backswing. As you begin your downswing, it also helps you maintain a square swing path with less casting and less slice.

Marksman Mode

If precision is your top priority, this custom configuration is an inch shorter and does not have counterbalancing. This shortened style is the go-to setup for any player who prefers accuracy over distance. Plus, you’ll have more freedom to shape your shots.
